I think I’ve been drawing since age 5 (like everyone, really), but I stuck with it because I could never draw as well as my older sibling and never stopped. Drawing has always taken me to a relaxing place in my mind. It has helped me focus and not rush through things. One of the main things I try to accomplish in my work is attention to detail. Another focus is making sure that my drawings look like drawings. I absolutely love and admire hyperrealism in drawings, but for my work, I want the pencil to show off, similar to seeing brush strokes in a painting.
